Aftersome thinking, I decided to pull all the parts and replace to make 100% sure. The chain also had 2.5mm of stretch. All the rails have been changed. Now back to reinstall the timing chain that I already installed once. I decided to leave the cam gear. Made sure everything was in 0hase like the edge motors video. .

Themileage on the car is 184,000. Also the engine code is BUL. You need a camshaft locking tool, tensioner pins and the cam variator tool. Cost about £100 to buy. If anybody was to do this job and not replace 1 of the 2 parts, it wouldn't sound any different, so your proof would still be there. Shouldn't cost more than £600 all in.
