Mazda only want to replace engine. Trade in value as its a well known fault is only £2500. And it's hard to even find a specialist. To work on it now. Can't believe After 10 years. Mazda still use this same faulty engine in there new cars today. A friend bought a 2yr old cx5 last year. And has same fault. ;(I wonder if mazda has been bought out.
Hi, I have the same issue, first oil light, fixed with full service and oil change, then SCBS light, that went, then DPF soot level too high, fixed by keeping revs above 3000 for 10 minute drive and DPF cleaner additive. Now we have the Vehicle System Malfunction message which is a little intermittent and usually comes on 5-10 mins into journey.

I don't really know about DPF equipped cars, but our family owned BS6 Mahindra truck has an auto DPF-cleaner program which needs to run once the DPF warning light switches from amber to red. SOURCE: DPF LIGHT. I have had the same problem with my Mazda 6, I had done 22500 miles when a light popped up. SO i persisted to go to mazda who much like yourslef told me my driving style is wrong. I have a 58 reg Mazda 6 2.0 diesel and have had continued dpf warning lights. First garage I took it to reset the light as they claimed it was used as a service indicator light to drum up trade for main dealers. This caused me to sheer off the turbo while overtaking and a £900 bill.
